PHILIPPINE PROVINCIAL GOVT DECIDES TO BAN FACEBOOK FOR EMPLOYEES
GENERAL SANTOS CITY - South Cotabato officials have been banned starting Monday the use of Facebook and other social networking sites among its employees, especially during office hours.
South Cotabato Gov. Arthur Pingoy Jr. said they implemented the ban following reports that a number of local government employees have already been hooked to the popular social networking site and consequently failed to accomplish their assigned tasks.
S. KOREA'S KT CORP, NHN TO JOIN HANDS FOR WI-FI AD VENTURE
SEOUL - South Korea's telecom titan KT Corp. (KSE:030200) and NHN Corp. (KSE:035420), the operator of South Korea's most-visited web search engine, will set up a joint venture next month to offer mobile ads for wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) users, the companies said Tuesday.
KT and NHN Business Platform Corp., NHN's affiliate providing ad sales and information technology infrastructure, will each invest 3 billion won (US$2.76 million) in the joint venture, which will target local merchants, they said in a statement.
